The terrace and outdoor gardens

Nestled in the epicenter of New York City, The Terrace, and Outdoor Gardens by Chef John Fraser offers a vibrant dining experience for all occasions showcasing American brasserie cuisine. From pre- and post-theater dinners and midtown power lunches to celebrations and dinner parties, the Terrace and Outdoor Gardens is a restaurant in Times Square with outdoor seating for locals and tourists alike.

The seasonal menu marries the innovation of contemporary cooking with respect for American culinary traditions, all while emphasizing locally sourced ingredients from farmers and purveyors. Brasserie classics, such as Wagyu Beef Tartare, Tie Dye Boston salad, and Dry-Aged Ribeye served with bone marrow butter and accompanied by miso spinach & hazelnut and pommes purées, share space with a wide variety of vegetable-forward offerings, a signature cooking style of Chef Fraser's. Plant-based dishes include vegan Hearty Carrot Bolognese, Royal Trumpet Mushroom carpaccio, and Whole Roasted Hen of the Woods over cauliflower couscous in a brown butter-caper vinaigrette. Fraser's culinary philosophy is reflected throughout the menu, where seasonal dishes featuring locally sourced produce take center stage, with vegetables leading the way.

Beverage Director and Advanced Sommelier Amy Racine presents an award-winning wine list that showcases responsible and healthy wine-making practices. The list boasts a large selection of American favorites, with a particular emphasis on California and nearby Long Island winemakers. The cocktail program highlights a brasserie classic - the martini, and Racine goes beyond the traditional dirty version, showcasing inventive variations that incorporate elements of floral, smoky, and citrus flavors.

JOHN FRASER

Restaurateur & Chef John Fraser made his mark on the culinary landscape by redefining the role of vegetables in American cuisine. Born & raised in Los Angeles, he draws inspiration from his Mediterranean roots and the vegetable-forward California cuisine he grew up around. In 2007, he went from chef to restaurateur with a vision to create the entire hospitality experience founding his own collaborative and creative hospitality group, JF Restaurants, based in New York City.

Pridefully calling New York City home, the restaurant group has expanded its reach and is currently behind 15 unique concepts across five cities in the United States, including Southold (New York), West Hollywood (California), Tampa (Florida), and Boston (Massachusetts).

Fraser has garnered numerous culinary accolades throughout his career. He achieved a remarkable eight consecutive years of Michelin star recognition at Dovetail, followed by another Michelin star at NIX.
